Thrifty Foods Smile Card Program

The Thrifty Foods Smile Card Program is a delicious way to support the Juan de Fuca Performing Arts Centre Society (JdFPACS). Each time you load your Smile Card, 5% of the purchase will go to the JdFPACS to support our community outreach efforts.

How the Smile Card fundraiser works

After you receive the card, and before you load it the first time, be sure to jot down the unique 19 digit card number and keep it in a safe place in the event of card loss/theft. When you visit Thrifty Foods with your new Smile Card, ask a cashier to load the card with any amount you wish – some people load enough to pay for a week’s or month’s worth of groceries. After you’ve finished shopping, hand the loaded card to the cashier, who will use it to pay for your groceries (this excludes tobacco, lottery tickets, or Gift Card purchases). The cashier can provide you with a receipt showing the remaining balance, which will remain for you to use on subsequent visits. You can top up the card at any time, and can ask the cashier to check your balance if you’re unsure.

How does the Smile Card benefit you?

It simplifies your Thrifty Foods shopping experience. No signature or PIN number is required, so checkout is faster. There is no cost to you, but your regular purchases will benefit the arts and culture in your community.

How does the Smile Card benefit the Juan de Fuca Performing Arts Centre Society?

Each time you load your Smile Card, 5% of the purchase will go to the JdFPACS to support our community outreach efforts. If you load $100, the JdFPACS receives $5; if you load $200, we get $10, etc.

A: No, use your AIR MILES card as before.

Q: What if my Smile Card is lost or stolen and there’s still a balance on it?

A: Promptly report a lost or stolen card by calling the Thrifty Foods Customer Care team at 250.544.1234 or 1.800.667.8280, or in person at the Customer Service desk of your local Thrifty’s. Once reported, existing funds on the card are locked. A replacement card can be obtained from the JdFPACS.
