We’ve been asking our community why they feel we need a culture centre for the Westshore. We’ve included their comments below.

Music brings people together. We need to draw entertainment to our community as Sidney has done with the Mary Winspear. It was supposed to happen at the Casino and that never happened.

We regularly attend plays at Belfry, Langham Court etc, as well as many musical concerts/festivals etc. but (others than seasonal outdoor events) they are all in town not out in the WC area where we live.

I live in East Sooke and my daughter and I travel all the way to Victoria to participate in theatrical productions. It would make our time so much more efficient and purposeful if there wasn’t so much travel time.

There are many sports facilities in the Westshore but we have to go to town for theatre. A growing community needs the arts.
